• Image of The Crichton Single Valve radio receiver and transmitter

Information is still very sketchy about these single valve radio sets found in the loft at Falcon Hall. It is believed they were built for the Young Duke to accompany him for his time in action during the Boer War. We do know The Young Duke was reluctant to travel to foreign parts without his beloved Admirable Crichton butler, so we can only assume The Old Duke had these made to keep them in constant contact and provide a familiar and reliable link with home.

Sadly the transmitting and receiving operation of these radios has long since perished.
